How To Make The Perfect Cheese Board On A Budget

How To Make The Perfect Cheese Board On A Budget

When it comes to hosting girls night, you can’t go wrong with a beautiful cheese board (or charcuterie board as the fancy people call it). However, all those fancy cheeses and meats can be expensive, and you could end up spending nearly $100 on them.

So when I decided to make my own cheese board to go with a night of wine drinking and gossiping with the girls, I knew I didn’t want to break the bank. After some research and some bargain hunting, I came up with the perfect formula for making a cheese board on a budget.

Lake City Eats: Marion Street Bistro and Brewhouse

Lake City Eats: Marion Street Bistro and Brewhouse

For those of you who don’t know, I live in Lake City, a semi-rural town less than an hour south of the Florida-Georgia border. It’s a city full of southern charm, and one of my favorite places is Lake City’s historic downtown district. Although it’s pretty small, some new businesses and restaurants have begun to transform the area into a place that caters to the younger generations in town.

My favorite restaurant in downtown Lake City is Marion Street Bistro and Brewhouse. The delicious food, the chill vibe and the fact that it’s nestled right in the heart of downtown makes it my go-to restaurant when I have guests in town or want to have lunch with the girls.

The Ultimate Guide to North Florida’s Springs

The Ultimate Guide to North Florida’s Springs

Did you know that North-Central Florida is the natural freshwater springs capital of the world? Well I had no idea until I moved to Lake City, right smack dab in the middle of North Florida two years ago.

Growing up I was a beach gal all the way. I had never even been to a freshwater spring until my boyfriend brought me to Lake City for the first time four years ago. Now, I can’t get enough! During the warm months we try to go to as many springs as we can. Each one has something different to offer.

Celebrating at The Grand Floridian

Celebrating at The Grand Floridian

I’ve been going to Disney World for as long as I can remember, and I had never been to the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa up until two weeks ago.

I’ve always wanted to go, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my little sister’s birthday than with a delicious brunch at the Grand Floridian Café!

Plus, the Happy Floridian at the Grand Floridian; sounds like a perfect match to me!

5 Tips for the Perfect Disney Graduation Photoshoot

5 Tips for the Perfect Disney Graduation Photoshoot

Shooting photos at Disney World can be a challenge. There’s tons (and tons and tons) of people constantly walking through the background and that’s a lot of commotion that can be distracting in photos.

My sister is graduating next weekend from UCF (my alma matter) and I had the idea to shoot some of her graduation photos at Epcot. It’s the International Flower and Garden Festival, so the grounds are covered in amazing floral arrangements. Epcot is by far the most beautiful on the Disney parks, so it made perfect sense.

After a full day of shooting some beautiful photos, I learned a thing or to about what it takes to get the perfect shot. Here are my five tips for shooting graduation photos at Epcot:

Eating Our Way Through the Orlando’s Farmers Market

Eating Our Way Through the Orlando’s Farmers Market

Orlando is so much more than just theme parks and tourist traps.

I lived in Orlando for four years while attending the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and I actually didn’t go to Disney or other theme parks that often because #brokecollegelife.

However, I did take advantage of the events that always seemed to be happening in downtown Orlando. Last weekend I was back on my old stomping grounds and decided to pay a visit to the Orlando Farmers Market on Lake Eola.

Frushi and Frosé: Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Frushi and Frosé: Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Disney days are the best days, am I right?

This Saturday I went to Epcot to enjoy the International Flower and Garden Festival! This is by far my favorite Epcot festival, with the park being transformed into a wonderland of beautiful flowers and toparies sculpted into Disney characters.

My sister and I decided to take advantage of the stunning scenery to take photos for her college graduation announcements. So I packed up my camera bag and my sister wore her adorable Mickey Mouse graduation cap ears and we headed to Epcot.
