A Romantic Honeymoon in St. Augustine

A Romantic Honeymoon in St. Augustine

St. Augustine is one of the most romantic cities in Florida. With tons of activities and restaurants there is no shortage of things to do. When we were thinking of cities in Florida for our honeymoon, it was the first place we thought of.

Jared and I got married on January 16 and the next day we set out for St. Augustine for our little honeymoon! We wanted to go somewhere nearby that wouldn’t require too much travel and where we didn’t think it would be too crowded. St. Augustine is also super special to us. It’s where we went on our first vacation, where we go every year with his family and where he proposed!

We spent four days there staying right on the beach, exploring historic sites and eating tons of yummy food! Here are some of the highlights and must-see spots for a romantic trip to St. Augustine.

Exploring John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk

Exploring John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk

Even though I’m a Florida native, there are still so many parts of this state I’ve never explored, especially on the west coast. So last weekend I was so excited about spending a couple days in Madeira Beach, a coastal town east of St. Petersburg.

We were there for a couple days watching my sister’s softball tournament, but we had a full day of exploring on Sunday. When I looked up fun places to visit in the area, John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk came up and it was definitely worth the trip!

Visiting Margaritaville – Hollywood Beach

Visiting Margaritaville – Hollywood Beach

A few weeks ago I visited my parents and sisters in South Florida. I grew up just 20 minutes from Hollywood Beach and it always feels like home whenever I spend the day there. I took my fiancé Jared there for the first time and we spent the day walking on the boardwalk, exploring the Margaritaville Beach Resort and hanging out one of their restaurants to watch football. Here are some of my favorite photos from our visit!

My First Real Fall: Exploring Blue Ridge, Georgia

My First Real Fall: Exploring Blue Ridge, Georgia

I’ve spent my whole life in Florida, where fall is just a slightly cooler version of summer. So, when my boyfriend and I decided to plan a vacation, I knew I wanted to go somewhere and get the full fall experience, changing leaves and all.

After plenty of research, we settled on Blue Ridge, Georgia. It had the small, mountain-town vibe with an adorable downtown area and plenty of outdoor things to do. It was perfect and after a few days there, I can’t wait to go back. It was probably my favorite vacation I’ve ever been on!

Tasting the Best Wine in Florida

Tasting the Best Wine in Florida

Is there any better way to kick off a weekend than with a good glass of wine? I don’t think so! On Saturday I made my way out to the Island Grove Wine Company Tasting House in Hawthorne, about 20 minutes south of Gainesville to try some of their delicious wines.

The Island Grove Wine Company is Florida-based and prides itself on using its fresh fruit to create exceptional wine. I first tried their wine at the Gateway City Craft Beer & Wine Festival in Lake City and immediately fell in love. So when I realized the tasting house was less than an hour away from where I live, I knew I had to check it out.
