Exploring John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk

Even though I’m a Florida native, there are still so many parts of this state I’ve never explored, especially on the west coast. So last weekend I was so excited about spending a couple days in Madeira Beach, a coastal town east of St. Petersburg.

We were there for a couple days watching my sister’s softball tournament, but we had a full day of exploring on Sunday. When I looked up fun places to visit in the area, John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk came up and it was definitely worth the trip!

Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County’s #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

This wooden boardwalk is lined with tons of shops and restaurants, and the marina is filled with boats offering tours. 

My favorite shops I visited were Zeno’s Boardwalk Sweet Shop (they had every flavor of taffy you could think of!) and Zeno’s Winery, which had tons of delicious local wines to choose from. I bought the “Tropical Storm” which is a Pineapple, Pear and Pinot Grigio Infusion. They also offer free wine tastings!

It was a beautiful day! The weather was cool enough for me to wear a jacket and we saw dolphins!

We ate lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., which had a beautiful view of the marina! 

We spent over half a day here just exploring! If you’re ever in the area you have to visit John’s Pass!
