I used to be the girl that would go to the gym with just a water and my headphones and call it a day. But ever since I started training at Mat Life Training Center my gym bag has become an essential every morning. It’s loaded up with kickboxing gear, self-care products and my favorite supplements and pre-workout snacks.
Since I workout for at least 1-2 hours every day I always have to make sure I’m prepared for anything (like getting hungry between classes or my deodorant wearing off.) So here’s a sneak peak at what I bring to the gym each day.
FIGHTER Boxing Gloves
I use my boxing gloves on a daily basis at the gym! Kickboxing has become a huge part of my fitness journey (read all about how I lost 30 pounds through kickboxing here) thanks to Mat Life Training Center. I got the 12 oz gloves from the Fight Shop at Mat Life Training Center. If you’re in the Gainesville area it’s the best place to get kickboxing and martial arts equipment and apparel!
FIGHTER Hand Wraps
Another kickboxing essential. Wrapping your hands before putting on your gloves adds another layer of protection between you and the bag. I also got these at the Mat Life Training Center Fight Shop.
Self-Defense Keychain
I never leave the house without my cat self-defense keychain. Carly, the Mat Life Training Center owner, gave me some self-defense keychains for a blogger event and I haven’t left the house without it since. It’s a great self-defense tool and way more effective than holding your keys between your fingers. You can get one and learn how to use it from the Mat Life Fight Shop.
Pre-Workout and BCAA’s
I was never really into taking workout supplements but my boyfriend has been taking them for years and I recently started incorporating them into my routine. I have been loving the Alani Nu pre-workout and bcaa’s. I take the Alani Nu Mimosa Pre-Workout as I’m walking out the door to the gym and I usually drink the Alani Nu Sour Peach Ring BCAA’s either between workout classes or after I’m done working out.
Blender Bottle
My blender bottle is essential for mixing my pre-workout and bcaa’s with water and ensuring there are no clumps. I just got a plain white one from GNC but there are dozens of different options
Healthy Snack
I never leave the house without snacks. I always have quick, healthy snacks stashed in my purse and desk drawers so my gym bag is no different. I’ve been enjoying the Made In Nature Figgy Pops (Ch-Ch-Cherry flavor) because they’re healthy, easy to eat and don’t need to be refrigerated. I just keep the bag in my gym bag and pop one in whenever I get hungry between workout classes.
Deodorant
I never leave the house without deodorant, but sometimes after two hours of working out it starts to wear off. I always keep one in my gym bag just in case. I just started using the Love, Beauty and Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower scent and I really like it!
Stainless Steel Water Bottle
To make sure my water stays ice cold I use a stainless steel water bottle. I load it up with ice and water before I leave the house and it usually lasts me through my whole workout.
What are some of your gym essentials? Let me know in the comments!
I am definitely with you on always keeping snacks in my bag and extra deodorant. Those are a must, especially when you workout for long periods of time. For me, I also always have extra hair ties and athletic tape because hair ties tend to break and calluses and real. Otherwise our bags look pretty similar 😀 #kickboxinglife
