One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday morning here in Gainesville is visit the Haile Farmer’s Market. The tree-lined streets of the Haile Village Center transform into a bustling market, with local vendors selling everything from flowers and vegetables to prepared food to jewelry.
I used to drive 45 minutes on Saturdays just to pick up my favorite items from the farmer’s market, and now that I live just a few minutes away it means I get to go every weekend!
I’ve decided to share some of my favorite items made by vendors in and around the Gainesville area. Buying local is so important and a great way to support your community. Make sure the next time you’re at the farmer’s market to support these awesome makers!
If you live in Gainesville and haven’t tried Uppercrust you’re seriously doing something wrong with your life! They recently joined the Haile Farmer’s Market and you HAVE to stop by and grab one of their freshly-baked items. I petit croissants (so buttery and flakey!) and their rosemary garlic baguettes are the absolute best!
Possum Hollow Farm
There’s nothing I love more than fresh flowers, and the flower bouquets from Possum Hollow Farm are some of the most beautiful arrangements I’ve ever seen! They’re beautifully made and stay alive for much longer than flowers from the grocery store. They also sell some great produce, like beets, potatoes and herbs to name a few!
With freshly-roasted coffee right out of Gainesville, Sweetwater Coffee is one of my favorite items to pick up at the farmer’s market. My favorites blends are Good Morning Gainesville (super smooth) and the Brown Sugar Blend (a little sweet.) They also sell already-brewed coffee which is perfect to sip on as you stroll through the market.
The High Fiber
If you’re looking for the cutest hand-printed home goods, The High Fiber is for you. They specialize in beautifully crafted napkins and towels with the most intricate designs. They’re great quality and the perfect housewarming gift or addition to your kitchen.
The Gourmet Muffin
The muffins from The Gourmet Muffin are out of this world! They have tons of flavors, including everything from your classic blueberry or banana nut to more non-traditional muffins like s’mores and caramel apple. Plus they’re giant! Definitly a must-have treat.
If you’ve ever been to the Haile Farmer’s Market, let me know who your favorite vendors are!
