Frushi and Frosé: Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Disney days are the best days, am I right?

This Saturday I went to Epcot to enjoy the International Flower and Garden Festival! This is by far my favorite Epcot festival, with the park being transformed into a wonderland of beautiful flowers and toparies sculpted into Disney characters.

My sister and I decided to take advantage of the stunning scenery to take photos for her college graduation announcements. So I packed up my camera bag and my sister wore her adorable Mickey Mouse graduation cap ears and we headed to Epcot.

We started the day by exploring the grounds decked out in the coolest floral designs, and attempted to catch butterflies in the butterfly garden. Then walked around the World Showcase taking photos before the crowds arrived.

And of course, we had to get our favorite Disney drink: Frosé. The frozen rosé at France in Epcot is the most refreshing, delicious alcoholic drink at the park, so why not enjoy one at 10 a.m.?

After we were done shooting, we made sure to soak up as much Disney fun as possible. That’s what’s so great about the Flower and Garden Festival; you can enjoy the scenery but also go one all the rides and have the full magic experience.

We hung out with Nemo and Crush at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, felt the need for speed on Test Track and explored our imagination with Figment.

Then we decided to go back to the World Showcase. Since the park opens at 9 a.m. and the countries open at 11 a.m., we wanted to walk back through while everything was open.

Epcot does an amazing job of immersing guests into each country, with every detail down to a tee. You really feel like you’re in another country each time you pass through.

The International Flower and Garden Festival also comes the specialty food and drink booths in each country. From shrimp on sugarcane skewers to maple popcorn milkshakes served with a shot of whisky, there were so many delicious options to choose from. Since we didn’t want to break the bank, we decided to choose one dish to try together.

We opted for the Frushi at the Hinami booth in Japan. I’ve actually never eaten sushi before, but sushi made from fruit was something I could get behind. The Frushi was made of fresh pineapple, strawberries and melon rolled in coconut rice, sprinkled with toasted coconut, whipped cream and raspberry sauce.

It was honestly way better than I expected. It was sweet with a lot of interesting flavors and textures.

It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is going on now through May 28, so there’s still some time to head down to Disney and enjoy the experience!
