Florida Day Trips for Toddlers

Florida is home to some of the best beaches, theme parks and play places for toddlers. We love taking our toddlers on fun like trips exploring around the state. Here are 5 toddler-friendly day-trip destinations in Florida!

Hart Springs

Hart Springs is the most toddler-friendly springs in North Florida. Located in Gilchrist County, these freshwater springs have a sandy area with water shallow enough to sit in, two playgrounds, a splash pad, plenty of shade and a boardwalk for walking and exploring. There is also camping, pavilions available for rent, and free air pumps to blow up floats, plus there is no alcohol allowed and they have full-time security.

I did a video recap of our last visit and we can’t wait to go back when the weather gets a little warmer!

Jacksonville Zoo

The Jacksonville Zoo is one of the best zoos in Florida! We love that it has a stroller-friendly train that takes you from one end of the zoo to the other. In addition to all the wonderful animal exhibits, there are plenty of fun things for toddler to do, including a toddler-friendly play area, a carousel, a splash pad and animal encounters like giraffe feedings.

SeaWorld

SeaWorld is the most toddler-friendly theme park in Orlando. I’ve done a post about how to enjoy SeaWorld with a toddler, and it’s our theme park of choice. You can also get a Preschool Pass for your toddler for FREE! So they can get into the park for free until their 5 years old.

Hollywood Beach

South Florida is full of great beaches, but Hollywood Beach is my favorite one to take my kids to. In addition to being a beautiful beach, it is much more mellow than Miami and Fort Lauderdale beach and more family-friendly. The boardwalk makes this beach very stroller friendly! There’s also a splash pad, mini golf and tons of ice cream shops.

Disney Springs

We all know Disney is great for kids but Disney Springs is great and free! They have a carousel, train rides, a splash pad and of course some Disney magic! Read more about what to do with toddlers in Disney Springs here!
