St. Augustine Beach has always been one of my favorite vacation spots. My fiancé and I go there with his family every year, it’s where we had our first vacation and where Jared proposed last year. I love exploring this coastal town, and this summer Jared and I decided to take another trip to our favorite spot.
We stayed at the Colony Reef Club, a beautiful property with the best beach condos. We opted for staying in a condo as opposed to a hotel because we wanted to limit our interactions with others as much as possible (there is still a global pandemic after all) and these condos have private kitchens, patios and have plenty of space.
We stayed in the unit 1212 Gold Ocean View and it was absolutely beautiful! It is three bedrooms, two bathrooms and sleeps seven people. Even though it was just the two of us we loved having all the space. The room was super clean and decorated with such cute coastal décor, and had the most comfortable bed ever!
Jared and I knew we wanted to just have a nice, relaxing vacation and to keep to ourselves. I packed up all my beach essentials and we spent three days going from the pool to the beach to the room and it was so great! At the pool we were able to get a table in the shade every day, and the beach wasn’t crowded at all! We had the best time soaking up the sun.
We also limited our time out in public, and since we had a full-size kitchen we were able to make our own breakfasts and lunches and order takeout from local restaurants for dinner. We had some of the best food while we were there, including an outdoor meal at Panama Hattie’s Bar & Grill, and takeout meals from Burger Buckets and Burrito Works A1A. Plus we had to have a St. Augustine staple, The Kookaburra’s amazing coffee!
